April, 2005 - Leadership changes

Art Pascal steps down as Scoutmaster and Garl Lovings    becomes the Scoutmaster of Troop 401.

April 9, 2002 - Leadership changes

After 7 years of dedicated service, J.R. Burkhart stepped down as Scoutmaster of Troop 401.   The new leadership positions have been established as follows:

Art Pascal - Scoutmaster,  Robin Wright - Committee Chairman,  J.R. Burkhart - Equipment Manager, Dale and Debra Petrey - Advancement Team, Peg Austin - Treasurer, Deb Jones - Secretary, Richard Smith - Philmont Coordinator, and Phil Montgomery - Youth Protection Coordinator.  

February 6, 2002 - Online with our own domain.

We purchased the right to use www.kytroop401 and established our web presence for real.  
 

October, 2001 -  Established Internet Presence

In October we established a link from a local website that allowed indirect access to the Troop information. 

Awards and Advancement Summary

September, 2006 Court of Honors: A total of 54 merit badges were earned by 26 Scouts.  Seventeen of the fifty-four merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Ten new ranks were earned including one Scout, two Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, one 1st Class, three Life, one Bronze Palm, and one Silver Palm.

April, 2006 Court of Honors: A total of 30 merit badges were earned by 15 Scouts.  Twelve of the thirty merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Fifteen new ranks were earned including Tthirteen Scout, one 2nd Class, and one 1st Class.  Special Awards presented included twelve Totin' Chip, one World Conservation and one 50 Miler.

December, 2005 Court of Honors: A total of 15 merit badges were earned by 11 Scouts.  Nine of the fifteen merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Eleven new ranks were earned including two Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, four 1st Class, three Star and one Gold Palm.

August,  2005 Court of Honors: A total of 47 merit badges were earned by 13 Scouts.  Thirteen of the forty-seven merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Eight new ranks were earned including three Tenderfoot and one of each of the following: 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star, Eagle and Bronze Palm.  One special award of Firem'n Chit was presented.

April, 2005 Court of Honors: A total of 13 merit badges were earned by 6 Scouts.  Ten of the thirteen merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Thirteen new ranks were earned including eight Scout and one of each of the following: 2nd Class,  1st Class, Star, Life, and Eagle.  In special awards, six Totin' Chip awards were presented.

December 14, 2004 Court of Honors: A total of 6 merit badges were earned by 6 Scouts.  Five of the six merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Nine new ranks were earned including two Tenderfoot, three 2nd Class, two 1st Class, and two Life.  In special awards, one BSA Lifeguard award was presented.

August 24, 2004 Court of Honors: A total of 38 merit badges were earned by 8 Scouts.  Of those, 17 merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Fifteen new ranks were earned including six Scout, four Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, one 1st Class, two Star, and one Gold Eagle Palm.  In special awards, nine Totin' Chips, five Outdoor Code, one Firem'n Chit, one God and Life, and one Mile Swim were presented.

April 20, 2004 Court of Honors:  A total of 23 merit badges were earned by 9 Scouts.  Of the 23 merit badges, 14 were Eagle rank requirements.  Ten new ranks were earned including five Scout, one Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, one 1st Class, one Life, and one Bronze Palm for Eagle. One special award was earned: one Totin Chip.

December 16, 2003 Court of Honors: A total of 2 merit badges were earned by 2 Scouts.  Both merit badges were Eagle rank requirements.  Eleven new ranks were earned including three Tenderfoot, four 2nd Class, one 1st Class, one Star, and two Eagle.  In special awards, one Totin' Chip was presented.

August 26, 2003 Court of Honors:  A total of 44 merit badges were earned by 13 Scouts.  Of the 44 merit badges, 15 were Eagle rank requirements.  Ten new ranks were earned including three Scout, three Tenderfoot, one 1st Class, and one Bronze Palm for Eagle. Eight special awards were earned: two Firemen Chit, one Totin Chip, two Mile Swim, one Snorkeling BSA, and two World Conservation.

April 15, 2003 Court of Honors:  A total of 21 merit badges were earned by 12 Scouts.  Of the 21 merit badges, 10 were Eagle rank requirements.  Eight new ranks were earned including four Scout, one Tenderfoot, two 1st Class, and one Bronze Palm for Eagle

December 17, 2002 Court of Honors:  A total of 16 merit badges were earned by 13 scouts.  Of the 16 merit badges, 5 were Eagle rank requirements.  Seven new ranks were earned including one Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, two 1st Class, one Star, one Life, and one Eagle.  

October 8, 2002 Court of Honors:  A total of 33 merit badges were earned by 18 scouts.  Of the 33 merit badges, 7 were Eagle rank requirements.  The 50 miler award was earned by 6 Scouts and 2 adults while the historic trails award was earned by 12 Scouts and 4 adults.   Eight new ranks were earned including two Scout, two Tenderfoot, two 2nd Class, one 1st Class, and one Star.   Two adult leaders earned their Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow.   

April 9, 2002 Court of Honors: A total of 18 merit badges were earned by 14 Scouts.   Two boys earned their Scout rank.  Other rank advancements included one tenderfoot, three 2nd Class, and one 1st Class.   Two Scouts earned a Totin' Chip Award and 2 Scouts earned the Leave No Trace award. 

December 2001 Court of Honors:   A total of 10 merit badges were earned by 8 scouts.  Four new ranks were earned including one Scout, one Tenderfoot, one 2nd Class, and one Star rank.   One scout received the World Conservation Award.   Two adult leaders completed Scoutmaster Fundamentals training.
